Camping in Korea

I recently had the opportunity to experience the K-2 Living Shell Tent in a camping excursion in Gochang(Gusipo). The following is my review.

Let’s start with the set-up. For a massive tent, the ease of putting it together is staggering. There are a grand total of four necessary poles, which means if you know what you’re doing, the main tent can be set-up in under five minutes. Likewise, propping up the sleeping tent within the confines of the larger tent is self-explanatory and simple. Preparing the entrance, staking it down, and tying it take a little more time, but honestly, two people working together can have the K-2 ready to go quickly and without the headache.

The look is fairly standard: a living room area connected to a smaller sleeping area. What’s truly impressive is how much space there is within the living room. Coming in at 190cm, I had no trouble standing up straight in the living room area. It’s comfortable, spacious and sturdy. It is difficult to find problems with the design.

My one complaint comes with the sleeping tent. While it was comfortable and well-ventilated, it claimed to have the ability to sleep four. My brother and I could comfortably fit, and perhaps, had one other come with us, there would have been room for three. However there is no way four could comfortably sleep there, unless they were all extremely small individuals.

After the night had finished, packing it up the next morning was simple and fast. Again, given the grand size of this tent, it’s amazing to see it fit in such a small sack. Honestly, it is one of the better camping experiences I’ve had, and a large part of that is due to the K-2 Living Shell Tent. Highly recommended to anyone who craves camping.
